Garmisch snow trip

Its was beautiful to c snow failling down from the sky. Wish i could stay there a bit longer to enjoy more. Didn't take much picture on the top, as it was cold and my camera is freeze up more than i.. lucky i brought my hotpack to keep it warm. Though i miss out on CNY, i still get to enjoy the snow view.

dream come true.

24 Feb 2007, sat morning, set out for the 1 thing that i wanted to do since the moment i stepped into germany. "SNOW". Finally...first time of my life i get to experience snow. In s'pore term, "suai gu lor". I have to tell my friends, first time play with snow mah. hahaha :).

The only "yi Han" for tis trip was that i didnt get to ski on the garmisch mountain. Actually i was planning for a 3 days 2 night winter ski package but... the alpine world cup ski competition was ongoing this weekend. All the lodging was fully booked. sianz....:(

But still i was contented.

25 feb 2007, sun morning, after a night stay at munich "jaegar hotel" for 21 euro dollars. Took the DB train at 0751hrs to next destination. One of the most famous and must go place in germany, Schwangau Castle. A gentle hint, the Walt disney castle logo. A must see place.

Gummi bears

wow... an old time classic cartoon. Was surprise to see this cartoon actually being air. It was like 18 years ago when i first watch this cartoon. For those who havent seem this cartoon, they are called "gummi bears". And when they drink a special portion, it allows them to bounce around on their backside a.k.a pi gu. so expected a lot of bouncing around in this cartoon. :)

And the cartoon is never completed without the bad guy of cos.

Bamberg town

Today is the last day of the festival. The lesson was shorten to only first half of the day, thus allowing me an opportunity to travel again.
Tis time went to the town of Bamberg. Some background history of bamberg..Its goes a long way..liked 902AD when it was first mention.

BaBamberg is a town in Bavaria, Germany. It is located in Upper Franconia on the Regnitz River.
The Old Town of Bamberg is included in the UNESCO World Hertiage, since it retained its medieval look.
Some of the main sights are:
1) Cathedral (1237), with the tombs of emperor Henry II and Pope Clement II
2) Alte Hofhaltung, residence of the bishops in the 16th and 17th centuries
3) Neue Residenz, residence of the bishops after the 17th century
4) Old Town Hall (1386), built in the mid of the Regnitz River, accessible by two bridges
5) Klein-Venedig ("Little Venice"), a colony of picturesque fishermen's houses along the Regnitz

Overall, its a beautiful town which with histories.

Forchheim town

Sunday morning, another day for a good outing. Today planning was to make a trip to forchheim town. Just another 15 mins train ride from erlangen north. Heard that there is a festival going on there in the afternoon so don't have to leave house so early. Can make it for the 12:57 pm train to forchheim.

Reach forchheim 13:12pm, the streets are filled with kids and adults are dressed up for the festival. especially the kids dressings are very cute lor. You won't see these type of parade in singapore. The elephant girl is so cute.



Beside busy taking photos of the parade, also busy picking up the free candies and popcorn being throw down to the people by the parade performers. The kids are happily picking up all the free candies and popcorn. But we got free beer. No wonder so mamy people attend the event.

Nuremberg city

Saturaday morning, bright and sunny day...clear blue sky and the air is very fresh.
Outside temperature +9 degree. Great day for a outing.

First outdoor trip out of erlangen. Boarded the the DB train at 10:45 am headed for nuremberg city. A bit excited lor, first time take train, not the MRT like we always used to take. Paid 8.80 euro for a weekend day ticket for 2 person.

There are a few museums here that has histories of the WW2. But didnt get the time to visit them. Spend time window shopping for giftsa Must visit them a the next trip here.

Merlot red wine that i got from the supermarket. Cost 1.79 Euro.

Bread and butter for daily breakfast, with milo.
Ham and hotdogs for dinner. Coffee....dun worry got all the free coffee and hot chocolate in the training centre.

The final product of today cooking... haha, a bit chao ta. Have to practice more. Couldn't find any eggs. Have to spend more time shopping at the supermarket.

Abalone porridge that i eaten for the past few days.

Today is a special day ("you lau yi shui le") so spend some time cooking the ham and hotdog to go with the abalone porridge. Together with the merlot red wine.

then is off to bed for another day. :)

Birthday Bash

The "surprise" was on 7 Feb 2007, 3 days before i left for germany and 8 days before the actual event. Thank you all for the nice pouch and the creative t-shirt card. Heard eddie did quite a nice job in touching up. Only jean didnt wrote on the t-shirt. Must get her to write wishes on it.

There is even a short video on that day, must get it from felin.

So mine is over liao, who is next on the list.....Hmmmm

Quiet orchard road at erlangen town

Pictures of the town(orchard road). Sunday all the shops are closed. Family day i suppose. No shopping and eating and buying. ladies nightmare. Anyway enjoy the pictures of the quiet yet full of beautiful artitecture buildings.

Touchdown Erlangen

The journey begins at 2359hrs 10 Feb 2007...thus making the first step for the next 2 months. My first trip to Europe.



After 12Hrs 40 mins of long...long flight, 2hrs waiting for transit at Frankfurt airport...30mins of internal flight...





Airport internet service..have to pay by credit card

My nice cosy apartment. but hor all the tv (500 in total) channel sucks lor. All in german, i dun understand. can only watch pic. Hai..siannz.
